Who am I?

Well I think that it would be fun to tell you all something about me. So here it is.

5 little facts about me

1. I hate, and I mean HATE, paper towels. Almost all paper towels are really hard and dry paper. I hate how those paper "hair" pressed's into my skin. I always get goosebumps for that.

2. I love salt. Really. I use it alot. Maybe little bit too much sometimes?

3. I love "old type" romantic movies. Those ones what could be real. Like Sleepless in Seattle, Pride and prejudice etc. But I don't believe in real love.

4. I'm a bad cook. I don't know how to make food. Usually I don't eat at home at all. Or if I do, I just fry and boil everything!

5. I laugh. Alot!

Have a great weekend!

Something old, something new!

Blaah, I have been soooo lazy for past few weeks that I cant believe it. I have literally just lying on my couch and watched TV. I have been super tired for awhile, dunno why. Maybe too much stress? I got also a stomach flue that wasn't fun. I had to cancel one show trip also because of that, so the timing to be sick wasn't brilliant...

I think that the dogs have enjoyed that I have been so much at home. We have walked in fields for almost every day and I have tried to groom all of them in my grooming schedule, but well... It haven't work as I hoped for. :D I'm trying to have more interest with Orlando's coat, but it's gonna take a while when he will have full coat. No pressure for this year, I'm trying to get him into the rings in fall or at least in spring 2014. :D

I cutted Envy's fur, so now she can grow it back nicely. I didn't get it all off, just shortened it 2 cm. It looks good for now so :)

Austin and Hoover are both in full coats, so I have work to do with them. Hugo has almost full coat, so soon I will have 3 full coated boys. Thankfully Austin coat is now days super easy to work with, and Hoover doesn't change his coat anymore, so I think he's grooming is not going to be hard anymore.
And then I have baby Beverly. But her coat is a thing that I don't have to worry for a while. She's so simple to wash & groom, except that it takes almost 1,5 our to dry her coat. Hope that she will not have so much coat as her uncle Chester has. I can tell u that he's a afghan with lots of coat :D

Back to Hugo. As I told before, he's growing his coat back nicely and it's almost in full length, sooo we started our show year with Hugo few week's back. We where in Tallinn, Estonia, where was Intrenational dog show. I traveled to Estonia with my dear friends Jennika and Nanna. We had 5 dogs with us, 3 shih tzu's (Hugo and Jennika's Namu & Inkeri), one pomeranian and one afghan (surprise it was Envy ;D ). We started our journey on Friday evening. First plan was that we where going to stay the night in boat, but cause our rings started so late on saturday morning (almost in 1 pm), we decided that we would go to the hotel for the night. And that was a good choice, cause I washed Envy at the hotel on saturday morning so I didn't have to worry her coat on friday (in Tallinn the weather was rainy).
So, on Saturday we started our show weekend with the pomeranian and Envy. Both of them didn't succeed as we hoped, but u can't always win :) Envy won her class (3 dog's) with EXC but didn't get the CQ. Judge wanted more coat for her. And that's a good opinion cause she was almost bald :D

I also presented Beverly's uncle, Chester, in Tallinn. And he did great: Int EXC2, CQ, BM2 and Re-Cacib!

Nanna was going to left home after the show, so I and Jennika escort her to the harbor. And I can tell you all that it was the last time that I travel without a car in Viking line. They had messed up all our reservations and it was a job to sort out that mess...
After Nanna had gone to the boat, we went back to the hotel with Jennika. We decided that we would eat first before we would start to groom the shih tzu's. So we went strait to the nearest super market and started to search something to eat. And ohhh what we found!! Super good sushi from that supermarket. It was a "fridge sushi" and I haven't tried it before. But I can tell you that it was super good, just like we would have ordered it from a restaurant. And for dessert we bought a tiramisu cake.
Our meal was delicious!

Yummy shushi!

Tiramisu & sparkling wine

After eating we started to groom the dogs. I had a easy job cause Hugo was pre-washed on Wednesday so he didn't have any tangles. My job was done in 2 hours. Poor Jennika didn't got any time to pre-wash her dogs so it was a little job to have the dogs done. Also Namu is a big male with lots of fur, so he's not that easy to prepare for show.
I fell a sleep about 23:30, and I woke up at 01:00 am when Jennika was starting to go to bed.
We woke up at 07:30 and started to back our things. We left from the hotel to Saku Suurhal at 10 am. We used a taxi to travel around Tallinn. It's not wise to pic up a Taxi strait from the harbor, cause there are many fake taxi's that can cost a lot then it should cost.
I had few taxi firm numbers that we used to get a taxi. And always when we ordered we got a nice service (even they usually didn't speak english, or finnish, so we used a mix up of english, estonian and finnish language :D) and got a big enough taxis where our stuff and dogs fitted nicely. :)

Our ring started at 11 something, so we didn't had that much time to work with the top knots. Jennika made all dogs top knots cause she's a pro to doing them (even that she thinks that shes not...)
Even we had to hurry up with the dogs we managed on time.
First it was Hugo's turn. he competed in open class with one other dog. I was little bit nervous with Hugo cause he haven't been in rings for over a year, so I didn't know what to expect. But he did well! He showed like a pro and won his class with excelent. He didn't get a CQ cause he didn't have enough coat, but it's a good start for us :)

Jennikas dogs showed them self nicely, and Namu ended up to be BM2 with CAC and CACIB. So he's now a new Estonian Champion! Congrats to Jennika and Johanna!! :)

Our travel back to home was OK, even the little mess up with Viking Line (again...) but we made it!

Again thanks to girls for fun trip, I had a blast with you!

So I think that's all for now, I promise that I'll try to write new text soon! Hopefully these "lazy days" are over, soon it's spring and many super thing's are coming up. For example one BIG BIG BIG thing that hopefully will be a good step towards to my dream!

p.s It so nice to know that I have readers!! Super big thanks for all who have left a mark to my blog, is super nice to know that someone else then my mom is reading my blog. Please leave a comment if there is something that you  want to read about or if I'm chattering just nonsense :D

The Handler

I wanna introduce you someone, but first let me tell you something about my junior handling past:

I started my own "junior handler career" when I was about 14 year's old. The competing it self wasn't for me, breed rings where my thing,  but I loved to watch when talented handlers make their dogs work perfectly. I started to search good dogs for my friend's to JH-ring (many of my friends didn't own a dog them self or they wanted to try something other) and borrowed my own dogs to them. I also competed randomly in Junior Handling.
When I turned 17 and my own career was over I borrowed  my dogs sometimes to junior handlers but not that much as before, usually just for people that I knew somehow.

Well, to the presentation;

I met this girl few years ago when I was a judging a junior handler competition in match show. She presented a scottish terrier. I know how hard breed it can be to handle. I drew my attention to that calm and professional style how she make that dog shine.

I placed her as a 2 that time. When she came to me and asked feedback, I told her that she's going to succeed in junior handling!

Envy & Miitta @ Tuomarinkartano Speciality

Orlando & Miitta at Lappeenranta Nat. where they were 1/1!
Orlando had just turned 9 months.

And I was right.
So the girl I have been talking about is super talented Miitta Mellanen. In 2011 she placed in Finnish championship final on 4th place! Last year she didn't compete that much but she placed in big competitions many times and handled my dogs in breed ring with super results!
Miitta has something that I wish that I would have. She makes every dog work with her. All my dogs love Miitta, and always when she comes to my house, my dogs go crazy. My c/o dog, tibetan spaniel Danny is really hard to handle. He's so shy guy that if he could, he would just lay on his back at show place :D
In Swedish winner last december she made Danny to work in ring with her and Danny got his first excellent and placed 3 in big junior class under highly considered judge Hans Lehtinen.

Mäntsälä Nat. where Envy got her first finnish BOB

Happy owner, dog & handler at Mäntsälä

In summer 2012 I gave Miitta handle Envy in Mäntsälä Nat. our judge had changed to another and first my plan was that I'm not going to show Envy in there. But, because we where already going I decided to take Envy with us however. Miitta promised to handle Envy because I was afraid to that I wouldn't make to Envy's ring on time before tibbie ring would be over.
And what they did? They came out of the ring with CAC & BOB rosette!

Mai & Miitta at Seinäjoki Int where they were 1/2!
This year is Miitta's last one in junior handling and she's going to compete as much as she can, so you will see her allot in this year in Jh ring's and breed rings too ;)

We are the champions!!

Oh, how could I start it?
We had a F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S weekend at Estonia!

On friday morning Jaana & Mimmi picked me and my dogs (this time Envy & Austin) from Kerava and we started our journey to Estonia and to this years first shows in Tarto.

"Gimme that treat!!!"

This was the first show for Austin to try close his J Ch title, and what he did? On saturday under Jan Stääv he was JUN EXC1, CQ, J-CAC, BOB-JUNIOR & BM2! So now he is Balt, Ee, Lv & Lt Junior Champion!
On sunday he got again EXC and placed 2 on big junior class with CQ loosing only for that male who Austin won on saturday. Austin was also BM3.

Envy's show weekend didn't start so nicely. She got VG on saturday. Judge sad that she's not a good mover. But on sunday judge thought differently and results were: EXC1, CQ, BB1, BOB, CAC and later BIG3! That was "the last CAC" for Envy to close her CH title, so now you can call her: FI, EE, LV, LT, BY, RU & BYW-12 Xaga's Lúthien!!!
She's my first dog who have gained adult CH title and I'm soooo proud of her!

So we had super weekend, and I wanna thank everybody who was involved with it (Mimmi, Milli, Pilvi, Tiia etc.), I'm gonna remember this for a long time. :)

Next time you will see us at Kaunas Int, so c u there! And again, if you have something to ask or something else, leave a comment below!

New year, new start

It's been a while since I last time wrote here. I have been so busy (Yeah right...) that I haven't got any interest to update my blog. I have tried for a long time to start write my blog in english, but it's not that easy. But because now it's a new year, I think that my blog needs a fresh start so it's good time to start it with new language. As usually, my spelling is not finest but hope that it doesn't bother you.

So, it's year 2013 and we had quite nice rest of the year 2012 with my dogs.

Our team got a new beautiful member when Lil' Miss Beverly moved to our life. She's quite energetic young afghan girl who make's people to notice her. Thank u Liisa for this wonderful little girl, I'm so happy to have her in our lives and hope that you will be proud of her!

We had a pretty busy time at shows, we traveled in all Baltic country's + also visited Sweden and Denmark too, and got some nice results: Envy won her first BIG placement in Lithuania, Austin won his first BOB in Estonia and Hoover got his firs Junior CC from Lithuania. Mai the whippet was BB2 and Res, Nordic Winner in Denmark.

At home Hugo has had been on a show break, cause I cutted his fur down on last christmas. Now it have grown back, so you'll see him in rings quite soon! ;) Now because Hugo is coming back to show's I decided that it's Orlando's time to rest for a while and grow his fur to full length. He's going to be in JH-ring's if Miitta wants to compete with him but I think that's all for a while. I'm planning also to try something else with Orlando, like agility etc. so that he will have something to do .

Envy is going to have a show break also after she closes her CH title and hopefully C.I.B title too. I hope that we will have lure books soon so we could try that with her.
Of course nothing is sure, cause you never know what is going to happen.

Well, that's all for this time! If you want  to know something, leave a comment below. :)

Keep talking

Sille on vaikea sanoa 1 syytä.

No miksi minusta sitten puhutaan sitä sontaa?
Siihenkin on vaikea sanoa vastausta. Nämä ovat toki omia päätelmiäni, oikeita syitä en tiedä.
Yksi asia minkä luulen olevan tämän takana on minun oma menneisyyteni. Nuorempana tein virheitä, joista olen ottanut opikseni.
Olisiko joku kateellinen minulle?

Mätsäreissä on käyty muutamaan otteeseen treenaamassa erilaisin tuloksin joten katsotaan kuinka meidän käy.

Vuoden koho kohta on tietenkin joulukuun Messukeskuksen näyttely, jonne olen muutaman koiran laittannut.
